this was a major issue when the Sprint first came out, and AnaJet offered a revision that helped to slow it down. when you set your auto-maintenance to 6 hours, that will force a head clean if no other action has taken place for at least 6 hours. this is separate from what i explained earlier. and yes, it's a waste of ink!
